Work the spirals from the outside in, one color per spiral rather than one color per turn. Trying to alternate tones around a spiral means seven or eight color changes in a shape the size of a coin, and the result reads as noise from arm's length.

The four diagonal bands across the cloth are the structure of the drawing, so give them a single darker tone and vary only the fields between them. That keeps the wrap of the mask readable even after every small shape has been filled.
